Having worked with Kitchen Design Centre in the past and been impressed with the results, the Kitchen Design Centre team were the obvious choice. “Our last kitchen was designed by Simon back in 2014 and we absolutely loved it,” says Mr Hall. “We went back to Simon second time round to get him to transform the kitchen space in our new home,” he adds.
The couple’s kitchen needed some serious work to bring it up to date. The design was not to the Hall’s taste and a little dated too, with furnishings 12 -15 years old. “We wanted something modern and stylish,” explains Mr Hall. “We already had a good idea of what we wanted but worked closely with Simon to create our ideal kitchen,” he adds. “As always, Simon understood what we wanted and managed to interpret it perfectly.”
As the kitchen was one of the most important rooms in the couple’s home, Simon wanted to ensure a light, bright interior. To make this happen, Simon had input into the structural design process to maximise natural light. The lighting scheme took advantage of vaulted ceiling details, allowing plenty of natural light, and artificial lighting including LED backlights. Uplighting was also incorporated into the art deco inspired coving.
A sophisticated colour palette of white and grey was also used to ensure a sophisticated finish. Quartz Attico worktops were teamed with Hacker units in Laser Brilliant Pearl Grey. The breakfast bar was given the designer touch too in Mountain Spruce. “Simon and I fed off each other – we were all on the same wavelength, which resulted in a fantastic design,” explains Mr Hall.
Finished Kitchen
Of course, a designer kitchen wouldn’t be complete without a collection of Neff appliances. The Hall family invested in some of the best, including a Neff larder fridge, integrated dishwasher, flex induction hob and combination oven – to name but a few. Mr & Mrs Hall tell us:

We looked after the whole design and installation process – ensuring the kitchen looked great and functioned well too. Top Neff appliances were important too – as cooking inspired Mr and Mrs Hall.
Some of the innovative features used included our backlit designer radiators and Quooker twin taps. We also installed clever storage under the mounted sink for grill pans and trays."

Our client chose the lovely (finger print proof)matt Umbra and black velvet oak doors with striking Calacatta quartz worktops. The Umbra was chosen to coordinate with their existing dining set.
Simon from our Barrowford showroom ran the project with Graham from GCL Developments @gcldevelopments. All fitted while the customer were on holiday for a month.
Matching utility with wash basket storage, maximum floor to ceiling units and dog wash sink. The design was to open up the space and make all the rooms work as one family space, with defined areas/zones.
