Kitchen Plan
After studying Interior Design at Bolton University, Lou Roberts was keen to use her skills to create practical yet stylish spaces that make the most of a property.
Since joining Kitchen Design Centre in 2014 Lou has certainly made her mark, and has built an enviable reputation for her ability to realise clients’ dream kitchens.
Lou tells me: “I am involved in the whole process, from the initial consultations to measuring up and using our state-of-the-art rendering system so clients can visualise the design, right through to the project management and assisting with any finishing touches. It’s a great feeling seeing the customer’s reaction to the final result and knowing you have helped shape that vision.

“I like to visit my clients’ houses and get a feel for their style and likes and dislikes before we come up with a design. It’s good to get an understanding of how they use the space and what’s important to them, and pull in elements of their personality.”
Each kitchen project is entirely bespoke, and project managed from conception to completion. This unique approach ensures that the client gets the kitchen that they want whilst retaining a single point of contact for the entirety of the project.
“The process is completely individual as each kitchen is made to order to a client’s exact specifications, meaning there is no limit in terms of what we can do,” explains Lou. “My job never gets boring because every space is unique and it’s great to have the creative freedom to create something extraordinary.”
Kitchen Design Centre specialises in modern German kitchens, and this style and aesthetic is apparent in the high-quality, stunning room spaces that seamlessly marry functionality and design.
Finished Kitchen
Lou’s most recent project was to fit a modern kitchen in a recently completed extension for Stuart and Sharon Bryce in the small village of Heapey near Chorley.
Stuart tells me: “We had previously used Kitchen Design Centre many years ago in another property, and although we looked around this time, we came back to them as we knew that their quality and design service was second to none. We had an idea of what we were looking for and Lou really helped us to get exactly what we wanted, whilst coming up with some ideas and solutions that we hadn’t originally thought of.
“Lou was incredibly helpful and polite and always available when we had any questions. She ensured everything ran smoothly and on budget. We didn’t want to cut corners and she knew exactly what our vision was for the end result. The finish and quality is excellent and we know that the kitchen will give us pleasure for many years to come.
“We are really reaping the benefits of the new space now it’s finished and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lou and the kitchen Design Centre to anyone looking for a new kitchen.”

CONTEMPORARY ELEGANCE FOR A PERIOD HOME
When Zee and Adam decided to transform their kitchen, they explored several companies before selecting Kitchen Design Centre in Barrowford.
Contemporary elegance for a period home
It was Simon Thomas, the Showroom Manager, who stood out with his exceptional design expertise and ability to offer creative, tailored solutions.
The couple were particularly impressed by the Barrowford showroom, liking its large size and the variety of stunning displays. They liked the main flagship display and it inspired their final design, as they adopted many features including the large island and Graphite and Taupe colour scheme.
Seeking a modern update to their traditional kitchen, Zee and Adam tasked Simon with reimagining the space while respecting the period property’s original features. To achieve their vision, they decided to remove a wall and merge two rooms, creating a spacious, open-plan kitchen and living area that now spans the length of their home.

A STUNNING CLASSICAL KITCHEN FOR A LUXURY APARTMENT
When Karen and Peter downsized from their farm, they opted for a luxurious apartment in a historic hall in Holmfirth, Yorkshire. For their dream kitchen, they turned to Lauren Couperthwaite at Kitchen Design Centre, Housing Units, Failsworth.
Initially considering a local bespoke kitchen company, Karen found they couldn’t match the extensive product range and expert design skills of Kitchen Design Centre.
The brief was to celebrate the apartment’s grand architectural features—high ceilings, natural light, and intricate coving—while crafting a kitchen that blended seamlessly with the home’s traditional aesthetic. Lauren’s choice of a pale sage green ash-effect eucalyptus finish brought timeless charm, perfectly paired with classic handles.
