Initially Michelle planned for the new kitchen to replace her old one, in exactly the same place, but Paul flipped the design around, locating it on the opposite wall so the space worked better. She also wanted a white kitchen but Paul came up with a stunning design incorporating dark colours and mixing textures which works perfectly, creating contrast and difference. Laser Soft White cabinets were combined with Silk Grey Oak ones and hints of wood accents pull the space together.

When it came to worktops, Michelle took Paul’s advice an opted for Corian. She loves the lighting in the trim of the island which offsets the large, long island perfectly. The introduction of the wood in the island ties the design together and to provide additional storage and balance the space out, Paul introduced a cupboard at the end of the island.
Michelle was nervous when Paul suggested a mirrored splashback but she is delighted with how well it works, bouncing light back and working perfectly with the colours in the room.
As a keen cook Michelle was delighted that Kitchen Design Centre was a Neff Master partner and opted for the venting black hob which was accompanied by two Slide and Hide Ovens and a Compact Oven and Microwave. A Neff dishwasher was also chosen and to cater for busy family life, a Quooker Pro3 Flex tap in Chrome was added which the family love.
Michelle is over the moon with her new kitchen and Kitchen Design Centre, “we can’t believe what Paul has done. Putting the kitchen on the opposite side of the room works perfectly. We trusted Paul and his ideas have really worked. The space doesn’t just look good but Paul really considered it as a working kitchen and designed it so that cooking in it is a breeze. It’s such a long island and he’s ensured I don’t end up walking from one end to the other all the time when cooking! We can’t praise the fitters enough either. They were amazing.”

"It was great that Michelle gave me free rein with the design of the kitchen and listened to my ideas and suggestions. The end result is a super contemporary space that looks incredible and is functional."Paul Harrington
