Every year, our design team packs their bags and heads off to Rödinghausen, Germany, home of Häcker, one of the world’s leading kitchen manufacturers. It’s something we look forward to all year round. Not only is it a chance to see what’s new and exciting in the world of kitchen design, but it’s also an opportunity to catch up with the Häcker team we work so closely with.
After a two-hour coach ride through the beautiful German countryside, we arrived in the quaint town of Rödinghausen, nestled on the southern slopes of the Wiehengebirge. From the moment we stepped into Häcker’s impressive showroom, we were surrounded by creativity, craftsmanship and innovation!
Over two days, we explored around 40 brand-new kitchen displays, each showcasing the very best in upcoming finishes, textures, and product innovations. From striking geometric surfaces to beautifully refined new colour palettes, every space offered a glimpse into the future of contemporary kitchen design.
It’s one thing to see a product in a brochure, but seeing these designs in situ, crafted and curated by Häcker’s expert team, truly brings them to life. Every detail reflected Häcker’s dedication to quality, functionality, and sustainability principles that have defined this family-owned company since Hermann Häcker founded it in 1898.
A highlight of the trip was our behind-the-scenes tour of the Häcker factory. It’s always fascinating to see how these incredible kitchens come together, from raw materials to the finished product. Watching the precision, skill and care that go into every stage of production gave us a new appreciation for the craftsmanship behind the brand.
We also had the chance to meet some of the Häcker team members we regularly chat to over email, putting faces to names and sharing ideas in person! Their passion for design and innovation is contagious, and it’s easy to see why Häcker continues to set the standard for kitchen manufacturing around the world.
Trips like this remind us why we love what we do. They give us the knowledge, inspiration and fresh perspective to bring back to our customers across the North West. The new collections and ideas we’ve seen in Germany will soon make their way into our showrooms, helping us design kitchens that are not only beautiful but built to last.
As a family-run company, Häcker shares many of the same values we hold dear at Kitchen Design Centre: commitment, reliability and attention to detail. They’ve been perfecting their craft since 1898, and today they deliver their kitchens to over 60 countries worldwide, including an ever-growing presence in North America.
We’re proud to work so closely with such an inspiring manufacturer, and our annual visit is just one of the many ways we stay connected to the latest trends and innovations in kitchen design.
Now, with fresh ideas and plenty of inspiration, our award-winning designers are back and ready to put everything we’ve seen into practice! The trip wasn’t just about admiring beautiful displays; it was about gathering ideas, learning new techniques, and understanding how upcoming trends can work in real homes right here in the North West.
From bold new finishes and on-trend colours to innovative storage solutions and smart design details, there’s so much we can’t wait to share. These are the little touches that make a kitchen feel truly personal, and they’re the reason we make this journey every year.
Every year, seeing Häcker’s 2026 collection up close reminds us just how exciting kitchen design can be when quality and creativity come together. Our designers returned home buzzing with ideas and ready to translate that inspiration into the bespoke kitchens we create for our customers every day.
So, whether you’re dreaming of something sleek and contemporary or warm and timeless, you can be sure the very latest in German craftsmanship and innovation is shaping every design we create, straight from Rödinghausen to your kitchen.
After such an inspiring few days in Germany, we’re more excited than ever to bring these new ideas to life for our customers back home. STUNNING TRANSFORMATION
Our clients chose Kitchen Design Centre because they wanted a dedicated expert to lead the way, rather than a mere supplier of parts
They required a team to guide them from the first spark of an idea to the final finishing touches.
The brief presented a unique challenge – transforming a blank-canvas garage into a space that celebrated the charm of a traditional barn conversion. The room, featuring expansive wooden beams, demanded a thoughtful design.
More than just a kitchen, the clients required a family-oriented living hub with a dining area tailored for entertaining.
Working with Simon, the Manager at our Barrowford showroom, provided total peace of mind. He spent time listening and meticulously exploring various layouts until the vision felt just right.
The result is a traditionally-styled kitchen filled with modern gadgets. The breathtaking Dark Blue Shaker cabinetry serves as a bold anchor, paired with light-toned units to accentuate the warmth of the timber beams and flooring.
