For a Father’s Day you won’t Forget

With father’s day coming up on the 17th June, many of us here at Kitchen Design Centre have been racking our brains and wondering just how to say thanks to our doting dads.

Well, we all know that the way to a father’s heart is through his stomach, so what better way to celebrate Father’s Day than with food? The team at Kitchen Design Centre has put together some ideas below that are sure to show your dad how important he is to you – and taste great too!

How about a Pie for dear old Pa?

One classic way to show affection through food is with delicious baked goods, and we’ve chosen the homemade pie as our dish of the day. Pies are relatively straightforward dishes to throw together – particularly easy if you use pre-made pastry – while presenting lots of possibility to vary the filling according to Dad’s tastes.

Making and baking a pie is also a lovely way to involve little ones in the kitchen as well (keeping them occupied while Dad gets on with some seriously deserved pottering time).

We’ve had a look around the web and chosen a few great pie recipes for your perusal:

  • For a really simple classic pie, try Jamie Oliver’s steak and Guinness pie. Not only will the classic flavours warm the heart but Jamie has no problem with shop-bought puff pastry, which makes the pie both delicious and stress-free.
  • This bacon and egg pie from the BBC’s Paul Hollywood is guaranteed to make your Dad one happy chappy, although it’s a little more complex (and Paul insists on homemade pastry – of course!).
  • Delia Smith’s classic fish pie doesn’t require any pastry at all – just a delicious crust of cheese and potato covering a mixture of fishes in a creamy sauce. You can’t beat hearty food at the end of a hard day’s relaxing, and Delia’s recipe is sure to hit the spot.

Of course, all good cooking starts with a good oven, and the Neff Single Oven range is at hand to make sure your pies come out perfect every time.

We at Kitchen Design Centre love the Neff range for their sleek style and easy-to-use interface – why should cooking be complex when it can be made easy (and beautiful)?

Thanks to a brilliant bit of design, the Neff Single Oven keeps the flavours of your cooking separate with innovative CircoTherm® technology, which makes it ideal for whipping up multiple sweet and savory dishes together at once. A stonking Father’s Day feast is made wonderfully easy with a Neff Single Oven watching over your food.

Kitchen Design Centre: for a Life with Less Stress

If you’re keen to celebrate father’s day with a spread fit for a king, then you’ll want to make sure your kitchen can handle the task in hand – and Kitchen Design Centre is here to help.

This sleek Neff Fridge-Freezer is designed with space in mind and can hold up to 262 litres of food – more than enough for your Father’s Day feast. You will even be able to prepare some elements the day before and make Father’s Day as stress-free as possible.

When it comes to assembling the big meal, the elegant chrome Neff Warming Drawer is perfect for keeping meat and bread warm and can also heat up your plates prior to serving (nothing says banquet quite like warm plates!).

AWARD-WINNING KITCHENS FOR AN AWARD-WINNING DEVELOPER

As you may know if you’ve visited any of our showrooms in Manchester, Blackburn, Liverpool or Barrowford, we manage more than 250 kitchen projects each year here at Kitchen Design Centre. Many of these kitchens are for individual customers, but we also specialise in providing exceptional designer kitchens to housebuilders and developers. We have a particularly successful longstanding relationship with Candelisa, a prestigious Yorkshire-based property developer that is (like us) known for the peerless quality of its designs.
The company already has an impressive array of awards on its shelves, and its team have recently managed to secure their latest accolade: the Best High Volume New Housing Development at the prestigious LABC Awards!
In case you need a quick refresher, the LABC Awards are the largest business-to-business awards in the UK’s building control sector, aimed at celebrating and rewarding building projects, and the people behind them. The Best High Volume New Housing Development in question was Candelisa’s project at Countyfields, Embsay. Due to our strong relationship with the company (largely through Simon Thomas, the head of our Barrowford showroom), Kitchen Design Centre was chosen to deliver every kitchen at the Embsay development – and like Candelisa’s team, we’re hugely proud of the results.

Latest case study now live incase you missed it.

With a keen eye for design, Nicole knew the look she wanted and approached a local kitchen company. They came up with a range of designs but although there was nothing wrong with them, the couple felt that they would like an alternative design. They were already dealing with a lot of different companies for other rooms in the house and were reluctant to involve another but Anthony suggested they visited Rowan at Kitchen Design Centre Urmston to see if he could improve the design, and they were absolutely blown away with what he came up with.
