Over the last twenty years we’ve seen Kitchen Design Centre grow and evolve to become a high-end, creative brand in customer kitchens. We’re now renowned for practical kitchens that look good too, often with that unique Kitchen Design Centre touch thrown in – that you won’t find anywhere else! Today, on our 20th anniversary, our aim remains the same as ever – to provide the most upmarket kitchens but with project costs that more clients can afford.
Founded in the 80’s, by Roger Astin, Kitchen Design Centre now has three showrooms in Blackburn, Manchester and Colne. We get involved in more than 250 kitchen commission every year from clients throughout the UK – and most of this work is generated through word of mouth and recommendations, meaning we must be doing something right!
Over time our showrooms have housed a number of different kitchen types and styles as we’ve discovered which designs best represent us as a company, and which designs satisfy every single one of out customers’ needs. If you visit one of our showrooms now, you’ll find predominantly German kitchen designs, top-notch Neff appliances and of course stunning accessories for that finishing touch.
With German kitchens being our speciality, we thought we’d introduce just two of our favourite ranges:
We love this young, fresh, modern range of designs, which offer a number of kitchen styles guaranteed to suit any customer. You’ll find an array of possibilities for cabinet configuration, fittings and accessories within this range – suitable for kitchens large and small and traditional in style or more modern. From the various options available, you’ll be able to put together your own personal kitchen to fully meet your individual requirements and demands. What’s more, the materials we use are high quality, hard-wearing and easy-care, ensuring your kitchen will fulfil all your needs for many years to come.
The ClassicART range adds a modernist edge to the traditional Classic range with its handle-less, sleek, clean cut design.
For a sophisticated, design-oriented kitchen, we always turn to our trusty Systemat German kitchen. It features variable and clearly structured modules and an array of widths, depths and heights for a high degree of creative freedom. If you’re one for convenient pull-outs, unusual shelf and cabinet solutions with an integrated lighting concept, then the Systemat design is for you. Their design and function make for unforgettable culinary experiences.
At the Kitchen Design Centre, we can help to create your dream kitchen. We’ll be there to help you from moment you make your first enquiry, right through to completion of your kitchen. We’ll give you professional advice and inspiration on how to create the look you’re after and implement your preferred design into your home for you.
Sound good? Why not come and visit one of our German kitchen showrooms in Manchester, Blackburn or Colne? Our friendly designers will be able to talk you through the Kitchen Design Centre process and discuss your ideas with you, with a free, no obligation chat.

A RETRO REVIVAL: A STUNNING KITCHEN TRANSFORMATION IN THE RIBBLE VALLEY
When Melanie and Nick embarked on a major renovation, converting their garage and extending their home in Clitheroe, in the Ribble Valley, they began their search for the perfect kitchen by consulting four different kitchen companies.
A Retro Revival: A Stunning Kitchen Transformation in the Ribble Valley
But everything changed after a friend highly recommended Kitchen Design Centre in Blackburn — one visit with designer Lou Roberts was all it took.
From their very first meeting, Lou’s passion, professionalism, and ability to listen stood out. It quickly became clear that Kitchen Design Centre was the right choice for them.
Initially torn between modern and traditional aesthetics, Melanie and Nick were relieved to find that Lou offered a wide array of ideas, bridging both styles. The extensive showroom displays in the Blackburn showroom further helped bring these concepts to life. Ultimately, they were drawn to a contemporary design in a bold blue colour. Guided by Lou’s creative vision, they introduced a striking contrast with vibrant mustard accents—adding energy and character to the space.
