Summer 2017 is the time that German appliance manufacturer Neff celebrates their 140 year anniversary. And as a Master partner of theirs, here at Kitchen Design Centre we’re celebrating it too! This week on the blog, we’re dedicating a few words to explaining a bit about the history behind this fascinating company, and why we continue to proudly include their appliances in our finished designer kitchens.
Neff was founded in a small town in Germany in 1877, by a man known as Carl Neff. (You may have already spotted the inspiration for his company’s name.) Carl had started his career as a locksmith, before – lucky for us – he switched his focus to ovens and kitchen appliances. The philosophies of simplicity and ease of use were applied to all his creations, and both of those still hold true today.
Throughout history, Neff was responsible for a number of huge steps forward in the kitchen industry. For example, Neff was the company that first manufactured large-scale ovens for industrial kitchens, before quickly going on to create a gas-fired oven that would replace dirty coal stoves
The company also played a major part in Germany’s post-war recovery. Their manufacturing power gave a huge boost to the slowly recovering economy – and not only that, but they even managed to soar to new heights in the international community, too. The ‘Made in Germany’ badge quickly became a stamp of quality engineering all around world, and it remains so today.
Since then, as you’d expect from a company with such history and prestige to its name, Neff has only continued to innovate, maintaining its hard-earned reputation as one of the world’s premier manufacturers of kitchen appliances. Their inventions include the induction hob and the industrial microwave – and if you’re an existing customer of ours, you might be familiar with their capabilities already!
It’s fair to say we’re very fond of Neff here at Kitchen Design Centre, and there are lots of reasons why we’re proud to maintain our longstanding partnership with them. Throughout their history Neff has stayed right at the cutting edge, and its name is synonymous with innovation, quality, reliability and efficiency. Neff appliances are famously powerful too, which never hurts! That definitely ticks all the right boxes for us here at Kitchen Design Centre, and by all accounts it ticks your boxes too.
