Top kitchen style tips for autumn

While summer may see you fleeting across the country and abroad on holiday, autumn is the perfect time to get settled at home. With the kitchen being the heart of your home, it’s important you get the space just right – warm, welcoming, with all the essential cooking appliances and features. Updating your home for autumn needn’t be difficult either. In fact, you can discover the simple ways to transform your kitchen space in today’s blog…

Adopt a warm and cosy colour scheme

There are so many fantastic autumn-inspired colour schemes that work well in the kitchen space.

A colour palette comprising of rich, golden shades of red, brown, terracotta and yellow works well for the individual that wants to create a cosy, rustic space or a chic and welcoming European-inspired kitchen.

Earth-toned shades also make another fabulous autumn kitchen colour palette. Think greens, browns, with a touch of mauve or lavender. This colour palette is the ideal choice for farmhouse kitchens, or traditional-style kitchen spaces with a shabby chic edge.

Alternatively, you could choose a colour palette that’s quite the opposite of the autumnal landscape to brighten up your kitchen space. A bright, white, minimalist kitchen, which allows in plenty of natural light, is a great option for those who want to hold on to the summer. You can tone down the clinical look of a white kitchen by adding in natural materials, such as wood, in elements ranging from your worktops to your flooring.

Add some seasonal touches

A simple and easy way to add a touch of autumn to your kitchen is through the use of accessories. Stock up on the season’s produce and proudly display in the centre of your kitchen island in a large fruit or vegetable ornamental bowl. Alternatively you could collect some samples from the landscape, such as acorns and rich red leaves, and pop them in a glass bowl for a kitchen table centrepiece.

Copper accessories also complement the autumn landscape – and with it being in fashion right now you’ll find plenty of things available. From copper light shades to copper pots and pans, it’s easy to inject a bit of seasonal colour.

Create a social space

Just because it’s autumn it doesn’t mean all those social soirees have to stop. In fact, autumn, and its many events, such as Halloween and Guy Fawkes Night, is a great time to gather with friends and family in your kitchen.

Make your kitchen space more welcoming by integrating cosy, living room-style features. Make room for sociable seating, and if you’re planning on a complete kitchen redesign think about installing a fireplace – it will be handy in the cooler months and look fantastic all year round.

AWARD-WINNING KITCHENS FOR AN AWARD-WINNING DEVELOPER

As you may know if you’ve visited any of our showrooms in Manchester, Blackburn, Liverpool or Barrowford, we manage more than 250 kitchen projects each year here at Kitchen Design Centre. Many of these kitchens are for individual customers, but we also specialise in providing exceptional designer kitchens to housebuilders and developers. We have a particularly successful longstanding relationship with Candelisa, a prestigious Yorkshire-based property developer that is (like us) known for the peerless quality of its designs.
The company already has an impressive array of awards on its shelves, and its team have recently managed to secure their latest accolade: the Best High Volume New Housing Development at the prestigious LABC Awards!
In case you need a quick refresher, the LABC Awards are the largest business-to-business awards in the UK’s building control sector, aimed at celebrating and rewarding building projects, and the people behind them. The Best High Volume New Housing Development in question was Candelisa’s project at Countyfields, Embsay. Due to our strong relationship with the company (largely through Simon Thomas, the head of our Barrowford showroom), Kitchen Design Centre was chosen to deliver every kitchen at the Embsay development – and like Candelisa’s team, we’re hugely proud of the results.

Latest case study now live incase you missed it.

With a keen eye for design, Nicole knew the look she wanted and approached a local kitchen company. They came up with a range of designs but although there was nothing wrong with them, the couple felt that they would like an alternative design. They were already dealing with a lot of different companies for other rooms in the house and were reluctant to involve another but Anthony suggested they visited Rowan at Kitchen Design Centre Urmston to see if he could improve the design, and they were absolutely blown away with what he came up with.
