This month, Kitchen Design Centre sent two lucky competition winners off to the delectable Manchester Cake and Bake Show – proof if you needed any that keeping an eye on our blog is well worthwhile!
Salma Aslam from Blackburn headed off to the Show, which took place at Manchester Central convention centre on the 4-6th April. She and her best friend spent the day there, having a fantastic time and sampling all the tasty treats on offer.
It wasn’t just our fans who got to enjoy the show, either: two of our Colne kitchen showroom design staff were treated to tickets courtesy of our kitchen appliances partner Neff!
Designer Maxine Hutchinson and design assistant Emma Clarkson volunteered (selflessly, of course!) to check out the Cake and Bake Show, and to try as many of the delicious goodies as possible on our behalf. What heroes!
Maxine commented on the day, saying:
“We went to the Show on the Saturday, and it was just fantastic. We started off at the Neff stand, where there were loads of demos going on, and we got to try out loads of the ovens and kitchen appliances on display.
“Then, of course, we had to have a look at the cakes and baked goodies on offer – there were samples of food and drink being handed out everywhere we looked, including a wine stand where Emma and I got to try out some pink champagne – delicious!
“We tried everything from fudge cake to chilli-smoked cheese; Emma ended up buying a giant pork pie and having to carry it round all day, which resulted in her arm nearly dropping off! We finished the day eating some Mediterranean breads and pastries – not the worst job ever!
“The whole thing was just heaven for baking fans – there were so many tools and gadgets on offer, but I think our best purchase had to be a blueberry cheesecake-flavoured cake from the Little Round Cake Company. Mmmm!”
So as you can see, our dynamic duo certainly put their best foot (or stomach!) forward when it came to representing us at the Cake and Bake Show!

We positioned the dishwasher right beside the drawers where we keep our plates, bowls and cutlery, and honestly… it’s made unloading so much quicker!

When Katherine and Andrew purchased their property, they always knew a full renovation would follow.
