Why we love a white kitchen

Why we love a white kitchen

Bright, cheery, and timeless… if there’s one kitchen trend that will never go out of fashion it’s that all-white colour palette. Over the years, we’ve had the pleasure of creating many different styles of kitchen and working with a huge range of colour palettes. However, one style that has always come out top is white – and it’s easy to see why.

Five reasons to choose white

  1. It complements every trend

Whether you’ve opted for a country cottage kitchen or something ultra modern, white will blend in perfectly. White also complements a huge range of popular textures, including wood, marble, and granite.

Why we love a white kitchen

  1. It works well with other colours

If you’re concerned that an all-white kitchen may look a little too clinical, why not pair it with another colour? Whether it’s grey, black, pastel shades, or something more vibrant, white is the perfect colour match.

  1. It brightens up any room

As a space for working, cooking, and socialising in, it’s important that your kitchen feels airy and bright. White gives the impression of a brighter space and is extra handy should you be lacking natural light. It’s also a great choice for smaller kitchens that need brightening and opening up.

  1. It creates the illusion of space

Too many colours and / or dark colour schemes can often make a room feel small and cluttered. White, on the other hand, creates the illusion of space – making small kitchens feel larger and adding real wow-factor to bigger kitchens.

  1. It’s available in a number of finishes

Unlike most colours, white is available in a number of textures and finishes. From white Corian and white gloss cupboards to white-washed wood and white marble, the possibilities are endless!

Styling your white kitchen

The final touches can turn a boring looking white kitchen into something spectacular. All you need is a little know-how.

Why not….

  • Add texture to your white kitchen for a touch of personality. Laminated wood floors, exposed wood beams, and granite worktops are all design features you could consider.
  • Keep the clean, high-end look by choosing the right appliances. Black and stainless steel appliances are usually a good bet, as long as you maintain balance. Choosing white appliances can be a little risky as they are more than likely to be in varying shades of white.
  • Update and personalise the style of your all-white kitchen with accessories. A white kitchen is a great base and can be enhanced by accessories that are temporary rather than permanent. Add a touch of colour with artwork, crockery, tea towels, and curtains and cover chairs with interesting upholstery.

AWARD-WINNING KITCHENS FOR AN AWARD-WINNING DEVELOPER

As you may know if you’ve visited any of our showrooms in Manchester, Blackburn, Liverpool or Barrowford, we manage more than 250 kitchen projects each year here at Kitchen Design Centre. Many of these kitchens are for individual customers, but we also specialise in providing exceptional designer kitchens to housebuilders and developers. We have a particularly successful longstanding relationship with Candelisa, a prestigious Yorkshire-based property developer that is (like us) known for the peerless quality of its designs.
The company already has an impressive array of awards on its shelves, and its team have recently managed to secure their latest accolade: the Best High Volume New Housing Development at the prestigious LABC Awards!
In case you need a quick refresher, the LABC Awards are the largest business-to-business awards in the UK’s building control sector, aimed at celebrating and rewarding building projects, and the people behind them. The Best High Volume New Housing Development in question was Candelisa’s project at Countyfields, Embsay. Due to our strong relationship with the company (largely through Simon Thomas, the head of our Barrowford showroom), Kitchen Design Centre was chosen to deliver every kitchen at the Embsay development – and like Candelisa’s team, we’re hugely proud of the results.

Latest case study now live incase you missed it.

With a keen eye for design, Nicole knew the look she wanted and approached a local kitchen company. They came up with a range of designs but although there was nothing wrong with them, the couple felt that they would like an alternative design. They were already dealing with a lot of different companies for other rooms in the house and were reluctant to involve another but Anthony suggested they visited Rowan at Kitchen Design Centre Urmston to see if he could improve the design, and they were absolutely blown away with what he came up with.
