Last year we announced that we were working together with Candelisa Properties to supply and install 51 luxury fitted kitchens for apartments in a historic textile mill in Cononley which was being renovated by boutique property developer Candelisa.
Fast forward nine months and we’re delighted to say we’ve completed the project and that Candelisa were so happy with us that in addition to the 51 mill apartment kitchens, they also asked us to do an additional 42 kitchens for the individual houses they built behind the mill that formed part of the same development.

Candelisa is a leading UK and International property developer that specialises in the regeneration of historic buildings and creating new build housing that is totally unique. The Horace Mills development saw the innovative redevelopment of the former textile mill and consisted of two elements; the original historic mill building and a brand new, luxury annex. The elegant apartments offer a choice of 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms that boast exceptional living spaces with old, historic character or contemporary style.

It made sense for Candelisa to work with an established, local trusted kitchen company and with 35 years’ experience, kitchen Design Centre was the ideal choice. From the start they knew that the kitchens would be key to selling the apartments and Sales and Marketing Manager Sarah Cawley wanted a kitchen company that was not only capable of delivering this large project but one that could offer quality kitchens in a range of styles. It was also important that the company could offer a bespoke personal service for their clients, where each customer could choose their individual kitchen and have a choice of styles and colours. Delivery and installation were also a key factor: Candelisa needed a company who had their own expert installation team to fulfil the high expectations.
“I was really impressed with kitchen Design Centre,” says Sarah, “ I visited their Barrowford showroom and loved it. The extensive kitchen ranges and the expert designers made them the perfect company for us to work with. We wanted design led kitchens in a range of styles and Kitchen Design Centre offered this and more.”
Sarah worked closely with Simon Thomas from Kitchen Design Centre, with Simon managing the project from start to finish. In some of the apartments Sarah chose the kitchens and, for the others, customers came to the Barrowford showroom and worked with Simon to design their perfect kitchen.
The stone-built houses behind the mill are all totally different in specification outside and inside and all required a different kitchen. This was no problem for Kitchen Design Centre.
The end result is a development with a wide range of kitchens, all totally unique but equally stunning.
The development is 80% sold already and the feedback on the kitchens has been incredible.
