Small but perfectly formed

After visiting showrooms in Clitheroe they were slightly underwhelmed, feeling none of them had many displays on show. This all changed when they visited Kitchen Design Centre in Barrowford and met designer Suzanne Carter. They were impressed with how professional, friendly and knowledgeable she was and liked the range of displays and design ideas on offer in the showroom.

Their kitchen was a compact space that needed a good design and they were surprised and pleased when Suzanne came up with a totally different design to the one they envisaged, “The space is tight and we thought the tall cupboards would only work on the wall next to the window but Suzanne showed us how they would work better on the other side of the room.”

The brief was to maximise storage and worktop space and the couple feel Suzanne has achieved this, “we wanted good accessible storage and more worktop space which the kitchen has provided. Suzanne’s design means we can both be in the kitchen working at opposite sides at the same time – something we couldn’t do before.”

With high specification appliances at the top of their list, research had led them to Neff and with Kitchen Design Centre being a master partner it meant they could advise on the best appliances for the couple’s needs. They chose the Neff Single Oven with vario steam, the Combi Microwave, Flex induction hob, Box Chimney extractor, Tall fridge and Dishwasher. The furniture was high gloss handle-less in taupe with Corian worktops in white jasmine.

The couple are delighted with the end result and can’t praise Suzanne and Kitchen Design Centre enough, “ Suzanne was great to deal with and the fitters were fantastic too. The care and attention to detail they showed during the installation was really impressive. The kitchen is a pleasure to be in – we love it.”

The couple have liked the after service from Kitchen Design Centre too. Because the appliances and cooking was so important to them they have since enjoyed Neff cooking demonstrations in the Barrowford showroom where they’ve learnt all about the appliances and how to get the best from them.

Designer Suzanne Carter says, “this was tricky as space was limited but it shows what is possible with the right design. I delivered on storage and work top space whilst also ensuring it looked good too. The Corian worktops give a streamlined look and the glossy furniture reflects the light. With space being limited the kitchen had to have a light, airy feel. I achieved this by introducing warmth and texture through the splashback and worktops.”
