The kitchen is often the centrepiece of the home – a space for cooking, entertaining, and making memories. As lifestyles evolve, so do kitchen designs, with people seeking a balance of beauty and practicality. Whether you’re dreaming of a stylish space to host gatherings or simply an efficient, tailored room to prepare your meals, 2025 is bringing exciting new possibilities to the table. At Kitchen Design Centre, we’re always ahead of the curve, tailoring designs to reflect not just the trends of the moment but the way you live. Ready to create your dream kitchen? Let’s take a look at what’s shaping kitchen design in 2025.
If you love hosting dinner parties, sculleries – or “dirty kitchens”, as they’re often called – are a game-changer that’s set to gain popularity in 2025. A scullery is a small room next to the kitchen, providing a practical, hidden space to handle messier tasks and keep your main kitchen pristine, ready to impress your guests. Unlike the open-plan kitchens that have been a popular choice for many years, sculleries allow you to keep everything out of sight, so you don’t have to have all your appliances and clutter on display. Perfect for prep work, washing up, or storing extra appliances you don’t want on display 24/7, sculleries let you embrace both function and style without compromise. It’s no surprise we’re seeing them more often.
Communal seating arrangements have been a prominent trend throughout 2024 and are showing no signs of fading from the spotlight in 2025. The kitchen is no longer just a place for cooking; over the years, it’s graduated into a space for connection and sharing moments with friends and family. Whether integrated into an island or positioned as a separate feature, communal seating invites everyone to gather and enjoy one another’s company. These arrangements add warmth and personality to your kitchen, making it the perfect setting for socialising, dinner parties or a good old-fashioned cup of tea and a chat.
We’ve touched on this trend before, but it’s only grown in popularity over the past year, and it’s set to continue in 2025: combination islands. These versatile islands blend prep space with seating, making them perfect for cooking, dining, and entertaining. Whether you’re prepping ingredients or chatting with friends, combination islands effortlessly combine form and function.
Beyond a workspace and storage, these islands often include built-in appliances like sinks or Quooker taps, maximising efficiency. They also help conserve space by hiding larger appliances like fridges and dishwashers. With all-around seating that brings people together, combination islands are transforming kitchens into multifunctional social hubs, and they’re here to stay!
Never underestimate the power of hardware – sometimes, the smallest details can make the biggest impact. In 2025, it looks like gold is taking centre stage, adding a touch of sophistication and warmth to kitchen designs. Its elegant hues create a welcoming yet luxurious atmosphere, plus it effortlessly complements both classic and modern styles. Whether it’s on taps, handles, or light fixtures, gold hardware can elevate the entire space, transforming even the simplest elements into standout features. With its timeless appeal, gold adds a subtle yet lavish touch that helps create a kitchen that’s both functional and inviting.
And, of course, we have our own 2025 Collection! At Kitchen Design Centre, our 2025 Collection features deeper 610mm units as standard, offering extra storage without the additional cost, while the world’s first 8mm steel-frame drawers with optional lighting add a sleek touch and increased functionality. With higher base units, extra-high wall units, and sustainable drawer accessories, this collection redefines kitchen storage. Plus, our ultra-low energy lighting systems help you create the perfect ambience while keeping energy bills down. You can read all about this in our last blog!

AS SEEN ON GEORGE CLARKE’S BEAUTIFUL BUILDS: FROM DATED LAYOUT TO DREAM ENTERTAINING SPACE
When Katherine and Andrew purchased their property, they always knew a full renovation would follow.
With both the outdated kitchen and untouched garden requiring significant transformation, the project soon became part of Channel 4’s George Clarke’s Beautiful Builds – it was an opportunity they felt perfectly aligned with their vision for the property.
While searching for a local kitchen specialist, Kitchen Design Centre immediately stood out thanks to its long-standing reputation, glowing customer reviews and welcoming showroom experience.
The brief focused on creating a sleek, contemporary kitchen that would feel open, social and highly functional, while complementing the wider architectural renovation of the home.
The finished design delivers a beautifully balanced space that combines clean lines with luxurious detailing.
One of the standout features is the striking worktop design. The waterfall edge peninsula creates a bold focal point within the room, while the continuation of the material across the side panels introduces a seamless, premium aesthetic.
Functionality was equally important throughout the design process, with carefully considered storage solutions and high-quality appliances helping to simplify everyday living. Among Katherine and Andrew’s favourite additions is the Neff oven, praised for both its versatility and pyrolytic self-cleaning function.
The completed result is a sophisticated contemporary space that completely transforms how the home looks, feels, and functions, perfectly reflecting Katherine and Andrew’s original vision from the moment they moved in.
