Homeowners looking to replace their kitchen should be wary of large discounts being offered by some national retailers, so says local kitchen designer Roger Astin from Kitchen Design Centre.
Kitchen Design Centre, in business for 25 years, has an enviable reputation for customer service.
Roger warns: “We are seeing an increase in the number of large nationals inflating their prices only to offer huge discounts and recent TV coverage on Britain’s Secret Shopper where a kitchen was discounted by more than 50% only adds to the confusion.”
“We would urge consumers to take time to investigate the quality and specification of the furniture and appliances they are buying as these can vary greatly and will have a big impact on price.
“Two kitchens can easily look the same but a closer inspection can reveal differences such as the strength of the carcass, quality of hinges and durability of door finishes to name a few.
“Consumers should also consider the quality of the service they will get throughout the process in terms of planning, design, installation and after care.
“This is difficult to assess at the outset but talking to different types of companies should highlight where the differences are.
“As a member of the KBSA we maintain high standards of design, supply, installation and customer service and are subject to strict monitoring to ensure continued professional service.
“Customers that receive a quote from us are surprised to find how much it includes and how often it can compare favourably with kitchens from some of the large well known multiples.”
