The beginning of February saw the installation of one of our latest designs at the Manchester Kitchen Design Centre Showroom. The design, which has got all our customers talking, is perhaps one of our most dramatic yet…
While the design itself features many of the popular design ideas trending for today’s kitchen, its colour scheme sets it apart. Emma Holmes, the designer behind the kitchen, opted for pearl grey and designer white for a dramatic monochromatic look. The Hacker cabinets featured putty concrete pearl grey textured doors, matched with laminate worktops in the same colour. Designer white Corian worktops were also introduced into the design offering a change in texture and colour.
To match the on-trend grey colour scheme, Emma opted for fitted Neff appliances in black / grey /silver. Her chosen cooking appliances included the Neff single oven pyrolytic, compact oven with microwave, flexi induction hob, gas domino wok hob and warming drawer. Together, the whole suite of appliances offers the benefit of being stylish and practical – with stand out features including the self-cleaning oven. Other must-have appliances, also featured in the design, included Neff’s large fridge, freezer, integrated washer and the Blanco Culina-S spray tap.
While colour alone is often enough for creating a dramatic design, lighting can play a key role too. To create the designer look she was after, Emma worked in LED lighting within the channel handle for an atmospheric and impressive finish.
As well as choosing a modern colour scheme and appliances, Emma was keen to represent the key trends in modern kitchen design. To do this, she choose handleless cabinets for a sleek, effective and grown-up design. This was complemented by her minimalist choice of cooker hood – the downdraft extractor, which remains out of sight when not in use.
Emma also made sure to include family entertainment portals in the room too, with an integrated Bluetooth sound system. This feature, in particular, is becoming very popular amongst our clients looking for a more sociable, family-friendly kitchen space.
