Seasonal touches for your kitchen this autumn

The cooler temperatures of autumn and the darker evenings have finally arrived – giving you the perfect excuse for a simple kitchen re-design. Revamping your kitchen space for autumn is a great idea. It’s not only fun, it transforms your space too – making it feel warm, welcoming and autumn-ready. We’ve got plenty of ideas for autumn kitchen design, the following being a few of our favourites….

An autumnal colour palette

Red apples

Whether you’re looking to enhance your space with a few accessories or want to revamp your space with a brand new wall of colour, go autumnal. There are a number of great autumnal colour palettes, which look gorgeous in the season and all year round. For something warm and modern, opt for a pop of red. If you’d prefer something Tuscan in style, combine warm maples with terracotta. Warmer neutrals, such as cashmere and beige are also great for autumn and best suited to families that would prefer to keep colour schemes simple.

A rustic touch

A rustic kitchen design

Rustic design fits right in with the autumnal season and can be inexpensive too. If you’re not quite ready to transform your kitchen with a traditional natural wood design, why not opt for rustic accessories? Wooden chopping boards, slate place mats and rustic-inspired décor can be added to your kitchen to take it into the new season.

A seasonal centrepiece

Flowers in kitchen

Add some style to your kitchen with a seasonal centrepiece. A table centrepiece can add the wow factor to any kitchen and is a great way to enhance your space in the autumn and winter months. Style with seasonal fruits, vegetables and flowers and keep the design rustic in style.

A cosy hub

People socialising in kitchen

If you’ve got an open plan kitchen design, it’s a good idea to allocate part of your space for socialising. This cosy, sociable space should feature sofas or comfy chairs and a rug – welcoming friends and family to gather during the colder seasons.

Seasonal accessories

Ceramic jug and tea towels

Perhaps the easiest way to add an autumnal touch to your kitchen is by switching your accessories. Replace your usual dishcloths, seat pads and place mats with something seasonal in style. You could also switch your blinds and curtains for something autumnal in colour.

Make the transition with light

Mood lighting is ideal for the autumnal months. You can still make the most of your task lighting – necessary when days are shorter and darker – but create a romantic and cosy autumnal space with mood lighting.

AWARD-WINNING KITCHENS FOR AN AWARD-WINNING DEVELOPER

As you may know if you’ve visited any of our showrooms in Manchester, Blackburn, Liverpool or Barrowford, we manage more than 250 kitchen projects each year here at Kitchen Design Centre. Many of these kitchens are for individual customers, but we also specialise in providing exceptional designer kitchens to housebuilders and developers. We have a particularly successful longstanding relationship with Candelisa, a prestigious Yorkshire-based property developer that is (like us) known for the peerless quality of its designs.
The company already has an impressive array of awards on its shelves, and its team have recently managed to secure their latest accolade: the Best High Volume New Housing Development at the prestigious LABC Awards!
In case you need a quick refresher, the LABC Awards are the largest business-to-business awards in the UK’s building control sector, aimed at celebrating and rewarding building projects, and the people behind them. The Best High Volume New Housing Development in question was Candelisa’s project at Countyfields, Embsay. Due to our strong relationship with the company (largely through Simon Thomas, the head of our Barrowford showroom), Kitchen Design Centre was chosen to deliver every kitchen at the Embsay development – and like Candelisa’s team, we’re hugely proud of the results.

Latest case study now live incase you missed it.

With a keen eye for design, Nicole knew the look she wanted and approached a local kitchen company. They came up with a range of designs but although there was nothing wrong with them, the couple felt that they would like an alternative design. They were already dealing with a lot of different companies for other rooms in the house and were reluctant to involve another but Anthony suggested they visited Rowan at Kitchen Design Centre Urmston to see if he could improve the design, and they were absolutely blown away with what he came up with.
