After experiencing poor service from a large high street kitchen retailer the Barrowford couple looked closer to home and turned to Simon Thomas at Kitchen Design Centre in Barrowford to create their dream space.
“We felt we were in safe hands with Simon and let him take the lead with the design from the start. His ideas were fantastic and we liked how he considered the design in terms of how it would look but also how we’d use the kitchen on a day-to-day basis. The amount of storage we’ve ended up with is brilliant and Simon introduced elements we’d never considered like a built-in wine fridge and sophisticated lighting scheme.”
Are you ready to make your dream kitchen a reality?
In addition to the obvious kitchen essentials, Simon accommodated all Elliott’s DJ equipment and worked the design so everything would work in the optimum way: a built in sound system was concealed in the ceiling, a base box worked in to the peninsular and integrated plug points meant unsightly wires would be hidden away when Elliott’s decks were placed on the peninsular.
Knocking a wall down and creating one large space enabled distinct zones: the kitchen at one end and an area for dining or partying at the other. Simon created a focal point at the far end with bespoke shelving that matched the laser soft pearl grey units in the kitchen. To keep the room feeling light and airy, Carrara marble effect white worktops were chosen and were integrated in to the windowsill for a sleek, seamless look. To further enhance the contemporary feel, stainless steel channel handles were chosen.
Finished Kitchen
In keeping with the contemporary cutting-edge vibe, Elliott and Carolyne chose Neff appliances throughout, from the cooker hood to the induction hob, oven and fridge freezer. A sophisticated lighting system of Sensio feature lights with Zirconia pendant lights further enhances the contemporary feel.
The end result is a stunning open plan area.
“We love the space Simon has created. It’s amazing that all the DJ equipment was considered too and works perfectly in the room. The difference between Kitchen Design Centre and the high street retailer we initially approached is unbelievable: unlike the mass-produced soulless kitchen they proposed, we have a bespoke space that looks incredible and is tailored exactly to our lifestyle. Cooking in here is a joy we enjoy using it as a party space too.”

"This was a fantastic project to work on. I enjoyed having free rein with the design and I’m delighted they placed their confidence in me and that they’re so happy with it. The kitchen looks incredible and I loved the extra challenge of incorporating Elliott's DJ equipment."Simon Thomas

STUNNING TRANSFORMATION
Our clients chose Kitchen Design Centre because they wanted a dedicated expert to lead the way, rather than a mere supplier of parts
They required a team to guide them from the first spark of an idea to the final finishing touches.
The brief presented a unique challenge – transforming a blank-canvas garage into a space that celebrated the charm of a traditional barn conversion. The room, featuring expansive wooden beams, demanded a thoughtful design.
More than just a kitchen, the clients required a family-oriented living hub with a dining area tailored for entertaining.
Working with Simon, the Manager at our Barrowford showroom, provided total peace of mind. He spent time listening and meticulously exploring various layouts until the vision felt just right.
The result is a traditionally-styled kitchen filled with modern gadgets. The breathtaking Dark Blue Shaker cabinetry serves as a bold anchor, paired with light-toned units to accentuate the warmth of the timber beams and flooring.
