Sarah and Heath renovated their Oldham home, adhering to a contemporary style with muted neutral tones. The kitchen was a major part of the renovation, with Sarah wanting a totally new look with a modern, industrial feel.
They visited Kitchen Design Centre’s Manchester showroom during a trip to Housing Units and liked the wide range of displays. One particularly appealed to them and Sarah fell in love with the island and bulkhead feature and hoped they could go for a similar layout in their home.
For a comparison of price and service, they approached a national kitchen retailer but immediately discounted them as their designs were poor and the price far more than Kitchen Design Centre had quoted.
Their kitchen space was very narrow. To incorporate the elements Sarah wanted: separate table, bulkhead and island, Rowan presented a clever design that maximised space and knocked a wall down, creating a larger space.
Incredibly the design was able to house multiple appliances and storage options including a Neff fridge and freezer, Neff oven, Neff hob and combi microwave, Neff warming drawer, sink, Neff dishwasher and multiple cupboards and drawers. The design even managed to conceal the family’s large boiler!
Finished Kitchen
Appliances were important with the couple wanting Neff throughout as they had always had Neff and considered it to be a good, solid brand. With Kitchen Design Centre being a Neff Masterpartner this was no problem.
In keeping with Sarah’s interior décor in other rooms, Rowan worked with her to create the perfect colour scheme in the kitchen, combining Putty Concrete Pearl Grey units with Grey Oak Grain-Cut Timber table, breakfast bar and décor panels and Designer White Corian worktops. The result is the perfect contemporary industrial look and feel.

Our client chose the lovely (finger print proof)matt Umbra and black velvet oak doors with striking Calacatta quartz worktops. The Umbra was chosen to coordinate with their existing dining set.
Simon from our Barrowford showroom ran the project with Graham from GCL Developments @gcldevelopments. All fitted while the customer were on holiday for a month.
Matching utility with wash basket storage, maximum floor to ceiling units and dog wash sink. The design was to open up the space and make all the rooms work as one family space, with defined areas/zones.
