Julie wanted to change the traditional kitchen in her property and visited more than 20 kitchen companies before finding Kitchen Design Centre and stopping her search. er dream was to have an island but every company told her it wasn’t possible and submitted designs that lacked any thought or individuality.
“I felt like I’d toured the North West looking at kitchen showrooms,” says Julie. “All of them said an island wasn’t possible in the space I had and they proceeded to send me designs, that were really poor.”
Top of her wish list were Neff appliances so Julie Googled kitchen companies near to her Audenshaw home and Kitchen Design Centre popped up.
“I’ve always had Neff ovens,” says Julie. ”I love cooking and I’m so familiar with them that I had to have them in the new kitchen. I couldn’t believe Kitchen Design Centre was just one junction down the motorway. The kitchens on their website looked so different to all the other run of the mill ones I’d looked at and seemed to be just what I was after.”
As soon as she stepped into the Manchester showroom, and met designer Rowan Chick, Julie knew her search was over. One particular textured door caught her eye and she was amazed when Rowan said an island was possible in the space. In keeping with the grey palette throughout her home, Rowan and Julie selected two types of door – a real stone veneered door in Silver Star and a high gloss lacquered door in Lava Grey. These were complemented by suede matt-finish work tops in Silestone Cemento Spa. As Julie wanted Neff, an induction hob was chosen together with a Neff slide and hide oven and a Neff microwave. To finish the suite of Neff appliances, a Neff full height fridge was chosen.
The end result is a stunning contemporary, sociable kitchen. At Christmas Julie was able to seat eight around the island: “This kitchen really has the wow factor,” says Julie. “I wanted an island and I can’t believe how fantastic this one is! I get so many compliments about the kitchen, I’m absolutely over the moon with it. It serves my needs perfectly – it’s great for everyday or entertaining, which is just what I wanted. Kitchen Design Centre really went the extra mile and I can’t speak highly enough of Rowan, who was fantastic from start to finish.”

"I enjoyed designing this kitchen. Julie wanted an island and I was determined to deliver one. Carefully positioning the appliances made it possible, together with making the island multifunctional - it acts as a preparation area, has the hob for cooking and acts as a dining area for up to eight. The colours and textures were great to work with too and the end result is a stunning functional, contemporary space."Rowan Chick
