Wanting a cutting edge, contemporary designer kitchen, a couple from Blackburn didn’t realise they only needed to travel a mile down the road! The plan was to go to several different companies but they were so impressed with Kitchen Design Centre’s Blackburn showroom and designer Will Hustler that their search started and stopped very close to home!
They loved the various displays in the showroom, in particular one with LED lights and gained inspiration and ideas from all the kitchens on show. The ‘wish list’ of items included plenty of worktop space as their daughter is a keen baker, a gas hob, wine cooler and a separate area for dining.

They gave Will free rein on the design and after a home visit he proposed removing a wall to combine two separate rooms and create a large new space for the kitchen. His first design was spot on, requiring just a few tweaks. The couple loved the fact that such a realistic visual gave them insight in to how the design would look in the space.
A dark palate was chosen with Comet Graphite Concrete doors, Arizona Pine bar and TV panel. A Quooker tap was selected and a suite of Neff appliances: Oven, Combi Microwave, Warming Drawer, Gas Hob, Fridge, Freezer, Dishwasher and Wine Cooler. A high-tech Neff cooker hood with backlit LED lights that can be controlled by mobile phone was also chosen.
The family spend all their time in the new kitchen. So much so their living room has almost become redundant! The ‘designer’ element of the kitchen was confirmed when the customer saw Kylie Jenner’s kitchen on TV and it mirrored theirs; with identical cupboards and worktops!

Simon Thomas - 25 years at Kitchen Design Centre!
On the 14th November 2000, Simon joined Kitchen Trade Centre, to start his career with us at the proposed new Colne showroom that he helped to fit out for its opening day in 2001. All these years later & a move to larger premises in Barrowford, he is still consistently designing fabulous kitchens, aspiring others in the company & leading by example as the top salesperson overall for the company.
25 years is an incredible milestone and impressive achievement to reach, and this is a true reflection of his dedication and commitment over the years. His knowledge and experience have made a huge difference to this company as a whole and it’s been great working alongside him and sharing his passion for what he does.
On behalf of the company, Simon has been given a bottle of Champagne & a voucher to help celebrate with as he chooses.
