They initially thought Kitchen Design Centre would be out of their budget but after hearing some horror stories about experiences others had had with well-known high street kitchen retailers, they approached the Blackburn showroom and were delighted that they could work to their budget.
Initially working from plans, designer Lou Roberts presented multiple design ideas, incorporating everything on the customer’s wish list: an island, Quooker tap and a low clutter look with clean lines and multiple storage.

The brief was to make the kitchen look fresh and incorporate light, bright colours in the form of pastels and light grey units. Lou opted for new colours in the form of Bali GL Summer Oak silver grey effect, mixed with laser Brilliant GL cashmere tall and wall units.
For the worktops, they chose Quartz Luminar with double bevel edge, that has gold glitter specs, which they’d seen in Kitchen Design Centre’s Blackburn showroom. They loved visiting the showroom and were impressed with the wide range of samples available to choose from.
For appliances they chose Neff throughout, combining the Slide and Hide oven with matching combi microwave oven and warming drawer. They also selected the Venting Induction hob with re-circulating kit for their island.
They were amazed at the CAD plan Lou presented which gave them a real vision of how the space could look and are impressed now the space is finished at how realistic this initial visual was.
The kitchen has become the heart of their new room, it looks fantastic and fresh in pastel colours. The family are delighted with the space and spend all their time in it. They can’t praise Kitchen Design Centre enough from Lou to the fitters, they found everyone to be professional and helpful.

The large amount of glass in the room meant it was light and bright, I designed the kitchen in colours to make the most of this. AS SEEN ON GEORGE CLARKE’S BEAUTIFUL BUILDS: FROM DATED LAYOUT TO DREAM ENTERTAINING SPACE
When Katherine and Andrew purchased their property, they always knew a full renovation would follow.
With both the outdated kitchen and untouched garden requiring significant transformation, the project soon became part of Channel 4’s George Clarke’s Beautiful Builds – it was an opportunity they felt perfectly aligned with their vision for the property.
While searching for a local kitchen specialist, Kitchen Design Centre immediately stood out thanks to its long-standing reputation, glowing customer reviews and welcoming showroom experience.
The brief focused on creating a sleek, contemporary kitchen that would feel open, social and highly functional, while complementing the wider architectural renovation of the home.
The finished design delivers a beautifully balanced space that combines clean lines with luxurious detailing.
One of the standout features is the striking worktop design. The waterfall edge peninsula creates a bold focal point within the room, while the continuation of the material across the side panels introduces a seamless, premium aesthetic.
Functionality was equally important throughout the design process, with carefully considered storage solutions and high-quality appliances helping to simplify everyday living. Among Katherine and Andrew’s favourite additions is the Neff oven, praised for both its versatility and pyrolytic self-cleaning function.
The completed result is a sophisticated contemporary space that completely transforms how the home looks, feels, and functions, perfectly reflecting Katherine and Andrew’s original vision from the moment they moved in.
