In contrast, a return visit to the Blackburn Kitchen Design Centre showroom proved to be a reminder of what specialist design feels like. The displays immediately impressed, but it was designer Lou Roberts’ enthusiasm and attention to detail that set the experience apart. From the outset, Lou took a real interest in the project, understanding not just how the space should function, but how it needed to feel.

Initially, Melanie had envisioned a classic shaker-style kitchen. However, as the design process unfolded and she explored the wide range of contemporary options available, her preferences evolved. She realised that Kitchen Design Centre’s expertise shone through in modern design, and the scheme shifted towards something more sleek and current.

Textured finishes played a key role in bringing depth and character to the space, with a sophisticated pairing of smooth cashmere matt handleless cabinetry combined with concrete-effect comet pearl grey units, creating a beautifully balanced contrast between softness and structure.

Although new to Neff appliances, Melanie has been delighted with their performance and intuitive functionality. The fitting process proved just as impressive, with the installation team praised for their professionalism, precision, and care throughout the project. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, ensuring the finished kitchen not only looks stunning, but works effortlessly.

Contemporary and practical in equal measure, the finished kitchen perfectly complements the architectural scale of the extension. Flooded with light and framed by breathtaking views, the space feels calm, refined, and effortlessly modern. Melanie is absolutely delighted with the result — a kitchen that is as striking as it is functional and her confidence in returning to Kitchen Design Centre has once again been rewarded.
