The kitchen had lasted and was so well designed that he wanted the same quality and service from an established, trusted company. The only reason for changing the kitchen was that Nigel wanted a change of style. His original Kitchen Design Centre kitchen was a traditional, wooden one and functioned perfectly but in keeping with other renovations in his Great Harwood home, he wanted a new modern looking kitchen.
Despite having the ability to knock walls down and extend the size of the kitchen, Nigel wanted to keep it exactly the same size but go for a modern, sleek look in lighter colours. Designer Will Hustler from Kitchen Design Centre’s Blackburn showroom created the perfect layout, making the most of every inch of space and introducing a two tone Pearl Grey and Taupe colour scheme that was finished off perfectly with white New Yarra sparking Quartz worktops.

A clever design enabled Nigel to have plenty of storage, a range of Neff appliances, to keep an important radiator and have multiple plug sockets with USB points. He was also able to have a breakfast bar for casual dining.
Quality appliances were important to Nigel so he opted for Neff throughout, from a Slide and Hide oven, Microwave Combination Oven, Induction Black Glass Hob, LowFrost Fridge Freezer and a Fully Integrated Dishwasher. To enhance the modern, sleek look and feel, a Blanco Metra Silgranit Sink in Anthracite and Blanco Arti Chrome Tap were also chosen.
Nigel is absolutely delighted with the finished kitchen, loving the design and contemporary look but he’s also impressed with the thought Will has put in to how the space functions:
“I love cooking in this kitchen. It’s a joy. Everything has been so well thought out from where the oven and the fridge is to all the other appliances. I can empty the dishwasher easily with all cupboards open and in reach, prepare food and quickly scoop unwanted bits in to the perfectly placed bins, the pull-out corner cupboard is fantastic and the whole space works so very well. I wouldn’t change a thing.”

When Katherine and Andrew purchased their property, they always knew a full renovation would follow.
