It’s a brand new year and Kitchen Design Centre is celebrating with brand new displays at its Colne, Blackburn and Manchester kitchen showrooms!
Since our design team’s annual trip to German kitchen specialists Hacker in October, they’ve been itching to transform ideas into reality.
Well, the time has come: all of our branches have breath-taking new displays that showcase the latest in kitchen style and innovation.
Over at our kitchen showroom in Colne, our designers have put together a cutting edge design – a fusion of metallic carbon gloss and matt basalt grey, with zingy turquoise accents.
Pale Corian worktops and subtle grey cupboard fronts will make this an unabashedly modern kitchen, while warm, wood-effect panelling in Silk Grey Oak will tie in with an island outcrop, tethering the kitchen to a traditional sense of cosiness without compromising its clean lines.
Playing on the idea of the kitchen as a stage for everyday life, a large island will dominate the space, its moulded Corian counter curving all the way to the floor.
Seating for four and a slender, in-line induction hob will unite the centre of the room, with open-fronted intermediate shelving on the back wall contributing to the overall sense of openness and flow.
The very best in Neff appliances will make this an ideal kitchen for keen cooks, or just those with plenty to do and never enough time. The moulded sink with Blanco tap and pull-out spray can make light work of dishes, while plate-warming and accessory drawers mean that dinner will never be served cold.
Fitted at eye-level, a steam oven, combination microwave oven, and single oven with Neff’s signature fold-away door, as featured on Great British Bake Off, will finish the room perfectly – and with timeless quality.
Simon Thomas, one of our Colne-based designers, commented:
“Our design for the new display here in Colne is inspired by the pace of everyday life: people are busy, and need to fit more into their time.
“The many well thought-out equipment elements are conceived from a desire to make everyday life easier, and are a testament to the power of insightful and detailed kitchen planning.
“This is a kitchen where cleverly incorporated, ergonomically positioned appliances meet with colour contrasting high gloss metallic carbon and white panels, resulting in a room that’s not only practical but visually arresting.”
Meanwhile, the design team over in Kitchen Design Centre’s Blackburn showroom have taken an entirely different tack, reimagining a classic shaker-style kitchen with a sleek, modern edge.
Centred on the Oxford-style door, new in from Hacker and already catching customers’ eyes, the kitchen breathes new life into the most cherished aspects of traditional kitchen design.
Quality craftsmanship and pleasing details still take centre-stage in glass-fronted cabinets, pelmets and cornices, but long lines, lean shapes and smooth contours bring the style up to date, ideal for both modern and older homes.
An expertly manufactured ILVE range cooker tucks neatly into the design, its Italian style complementing the stunning River Valley white granite work surfaces and Barrique Oak panelling, while full-length mirrors and a sculpted Blanco sink tie in the room with a smooth edge and smart continuity.
Natalie, one of our Blackburn-based designers, described the new display:
“Previously, we’ve tended towards the more contemporary kitchens here in Kitchen Design Centre’s Blackburn showroom, but I actually think there’s been a bit of a revival when it comes to the cosy feel of a classic kitchen.
“We’ve opted for a real blend of modern and traditional in this new display – we’ve got some real vintage elements situated with cool, subtle shades of magnolia and beige grey which add a chic, current feel.
“There’s a touch of real individuality, too, with a repurposed railway sleeper used as a mantle above the cooker, and a gorgeous Perrin and Rowe tap that ties in with the discreet chrome handles and gives a tangible touch of class.”
Over at our Manchester kitchen showroom, the new display is a stunning exercise in understated style. Combining serene stone and neutral tones with graceful lines and plentiful storage, this kitchen is perfect for those looking to create an airy, open space at the heart of their home.
Handle-less purism matches with natural, elegant surfaces to excite the senses, while a large island with seating firmly positions this stylish kitchen as a family living space.
A range of state-of-the-art Neff appliances, including combi oven, steam oven, coffee machine, dishwasher and five-zone, energy-saving induction hob, make this a real kitchen of convenience, while counter tops in clean white Corian and Portobello quartz add a pleasing contrast.
Designer Paul Harrington commented:
“More and more people are redesigning their homes with a view to incorporating the kitchen into the centre of family living.
“Our new display would fit very well into the hub of any home, bringing the kitchen to the forefront of daily life – and it’s also perfectly chic for entertaining.
“Our hope is to inspire visitors to Kitchen Design Centre with the blend of complementary colours and textures that have been brought together to create a unique, pure design.”
