At Kitchen Design Centre, our designers are always striving to push the boundaries and are passionate about helping you discover the kitchen of your dreams. We do this by knowing what the popular trends are and tailoring each kitchen to fit our customers lifestyles — it’s what we’re known for! The newest designs in our Blackburn showroom are perfect testaments to our passion for creating luxurious kitchens.
We’ve designed a brand new display and evolved the look and function of another in line with modern aesthetics and trends. It’s a perfect demonstration of how even a little change can alter the feeling and appearance of your kitchen!
The new display is a perfect example of how to mix on-trend styles, in this case a traditional shaker with industrial accents, to create a fresh and cohesive kitchen design.
The Lotus Graphite cabinetry perfectly complements the Sand Oak worktop on the island and other wooden accents throughout, while the dark colour of the cabinets looks contrasts beautifully with the Misty Carrera 30mm quartz worktop.
On first glance you’ll likely notice the gentle wave of the Edison-style lighting which creates a soft glow in the space, and is perfect for kitchens with lots of natural light. As Edison-style light is about complimenting and enhancing natural light which is why it’s primarily used to set a mood rather than to provide a bright light source.
This display features modern luxuries like perfectly placed hidden lighting under the cabinets to help you see while preparing food or washing dishes in the Blanco sink and tap.
The kitchen has glass front cabinets with clear shelving and downlighting to beautifully display or store your favourite tea cups, plates, or bowls. The additional storage is both functional and beautiful and might even be used as an alternative to open shelving.
An old metal range hood serves as this kitchen’s unique focal point, helping to create a more rustic and earthy look. This kitchen also features a tall fitted refrigerator using the Lotus Graphite shaker doors with stainless steel handles. Next to the fridge is a quirky set of open shelving – perfect for storing extra plates and stemware.
The island has dual storage areas, with seating on one side and a full chest of slow closing drawers on the other.
To keep with the traditional aesthetic, this kitchen features a full gas hob. Elements of modern luxury are added within the small space using Neff appliances including an oven and a combination microwave oven, and hidden dishwasher.
We’ve talked recently about how a kitchen can set the tone with colour and our updated display is a perfect encapsulation of that!
In the previous kitchen we had an energetic orange accent wall to sharply contrast with the Salento Beige worktop and grey furniture making all the features pop! As you may well know, orange can help create a sense of happiness, joy, and can even inspire creativity.
To evolve the space we’ve refreshed the accent wall with a forest green paint in order to calm the space. We also updated the cabinetry doors to Comet Opal, added new accessories, and changed the gas range to an induction hob. The result is a complete transformation in the overall appearance and feel of the kitchen from a bright and energetic place to a tranquil and calming one.
The new look feels a bit more cosy and familiar, like a favourite coffee shop. And all of the extras like the built-in coffee maker, wine fridge, slimline dishwasher, and other Neff appliances creates a luxurious look and feel — perfect for your home!
Whether you prefer a sleek modern kitchen or a traditional kitchen with all of the modern luxuries, we can help bring your dream kitchen to life!

CONTEMPORARY ELEGANCE FOR A PERIOD HOME
When Zee and Adam decided to transform their kitchen, they explored several companies before selecting Kitchen Design Centre in Barrowford.
Contemporary elegance for a period home
It was Simon Thomas, the Showroom Manager, who stood out with his exceptional design expertise and ability to offer creative, tailored solutions.
The couple were particularly impressed by the Barrowford showroom, liking its large size and the variety of stunning displays. They liked the main flagship display and it inspired their final design, as they adopted many features including the large island and Graphite and Taupe colour scheme.
Seeking a modern update to their traditional kitchen, Zee and Adam tasked Simon with reimagining the space while respecting the period property’s original features. To achieve their vision, they decided to remove a wall and merge two rooms, creating a spacious, open-plan kitchen and living area that now spans the length of their home.

A STUNNING CLASSICAL KITCHEN FOR A LUXURY APARTMENT
When Karen and Peter downsized from their farm, they opted for a luxurious apartment in a historic hall in Holmfirth, Yorkshire. For their dream kitchen, they turned to Lauren Couperthwaite at Kitchen Design Centre, Housing Units, Failsworth.
Initially considering a local bespoke kitchen company, Karen found they couldn’t match the extensive product range and expert design skills of Kitchen Design Centre.
The brief was to celebrate the apartment’s grand architectural features—high ceilings, natural light, and intricate coving—while crafting a kitchen that blended seamlessly with the home’s traditional aesthetic. Lauren’s choice of a pale sage green ash-effect eucalyptus finish brought timeless charm, perfectly paired with classic handles.
