A modern shaker style kitchen

David and Lois decided to pop in to the showroom when they were in town. They had no real need or desire for a new kitchen but decided to pop in for a look at the displays. Fast forward a year and their stunning home has been transformed thanks to a complete room change and stunning modern shaker style Kitchen Design Centre kitchen.

When they visited the showroom they loved the displays and started to think about how they could work in their house. They weren’t keen on traditional shaker style kitchens and handleless was too modern for them but they loved a display that was a happy medium: a modern shaker style that they hadn’t seen before and decided to explore the possibility of this style in their house.

Designer Rowan Chick visited them at home for a complimentary home visit and discussed the various options available to them based on their design ideas. Lois loved the idea of a blue kitchen and designer Rowan Chick came up with three design options that showcased different layouts all in striking blue colours. In the end they opted for a large island in Hampton Ocean Blue with a lower bespoke dining table that gave them plenty of storage and made the most of the views out to their stunning garden through their panoramic doors.

The colour of the units chosen was Hampton Taupe and Ocean Blue and these colours were offset with Quartz worktops in Strata. A feature tile splash back that Lois had seen in the showroom was copied and adds real interest to the space as all the colours in the kitchen are featured. Being keen cooks, they chose Neff appliances throughout including the Full touch Slide & Hide oven, Full touch compact oven with microwave, warming drawer and Flex induction hob. In addition to a Neff Integrated larder fridge they also chose a Neff built under freezer. The couple also opted for a Quooker Flex tap.

To complement the kitchen they asked Rowan to design their utility room which now sits to the side of the kitchen. In similar colours this practical space complements the kitchen perfectly.

The new kitchen has totally transformed their home and looks incredible. The blue and off-white palette works perfectly and the whole space feels airy and homely. David and Lois are delighted with Kitchen Design Centre, finding the whole process from meeting Rowan at the start to dealing with the fitters to be seamless and stress free. They love their new kitchen and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Kitchen Design Centre.
