Kitchen Plan
When they decided to extend their kitchen they turned to Simon Thomas at the Kitchen Design Centre’s Colne showroom to come up with a contemporary, workable layout that would be both practical and aesthetically appealing.
Designer Simon did not disappoint – the end result is a stunning kitchen that works on every level.
“The family were building an extension and they wanted their new kitchen to work with that. They were very clear on what they wanted – something very contemporary with a sofa area, a TV and media centre, they wanted to keep their existing Amercian-style fridge freezer and they were also keen that the family could enjoy views of the gardens from the kitchen,” explained Simon.
A sleek combination of German made units in high gloss Cashmere and Salento grey concrete expresses contemporary interior design.
The Quooker boiling tap adds to the high-tech wizardry in the kitchen, which features top of the range Series 5 Neff appliances, including a single oven with fold-away door as featured on the Great British Bake Off, a compact combination oven, a combination steam oven along with a coffee machine, plate warmer, flex-induction hob and ceiling mounted extractor.
The couple also asked Simon to design a drinks area, with the end result being a stylish, feature glass climber unit with a wine cooler and storage.
High definition LED strip lighting and perimeter lighting around the island unit complete this striking contemporary living space.
Finished Kitchen
“It really is a fabulous kitchen,” said Simon. “The end result is truly stunning with great views of the garden from the island.”
And the family, who are delighted with their new kitchen agreed: “We wanted a contemporary kitchen as the old one, which we ‘inherited’ with the house, was very traditional. We also wanted something stylish yet affordable and Kitchen Design Centre came up with a great design that suited our budget.”
The layout of the kitchen has also been well thought out to accommodate the couple’s 11-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter, who both spend much of their time in the new family living area that has become the heart of the home.
“It is very much the focal point – user friendly and practical. It is just what we wanted and we are extremely happy with it and with the service we received from Simon, Emma and the team at Kitchen Design Centre.
“They were a pleasure to work with, any issues that arose were resolved swiftly without any hassle. We are really pleased with the end result.”
